After the Irish Music Festival

She had declined to kiss me twice, politely,
During the course of a long day of
Drinking and dancing. That night at the bar
She saw me staring
Nowhere, placed her hand on my shoulder and
Smiled some broad and bright encouragement.
It was the first sustenance I had received
All day, and it nourished like soylent sunshine.
